WSJ covers Hillary Ryan’s Listing of Restoration Hardware CEO’s Napa Estate

Called the first “RH Residence,” the St. Helena, Calif., home of Gary Friedman was decked out by the company’s design team. ‘In the end it looks simple, but it takes great discipline to design in that manner,’ wrote Mr. Friedman. A statue of Buddha presides over the pool. Hillary Ryan of Pacific Union and Christie’s International Real Estate has the listing.

Gary Friedman, chairman and CEO of Restoration Hardware, now wants to sell you the whole house. Mr. Friedman is asking $10.5 million for a property in St. Helena, Calif., that he redid with all things Restoration Hardware and is now selling as what he calls ‘the first RH Residence.’ The home comes completely furnished from the 7-foot-tall Etruscan fountains at the entrance to the linens.
