Steve Mavromihalis Spectacular Tiburon Listing Featured on SFGate
February 16, 2019
Hidden behind a gate near the end of a secluded cul-de-sac, an over-the-top mansion is perched high on the finger of land known as Tiburon, which juts into the San Francisco Bay.
The property at 11 Place Moulin is quietly on the market for $12 million as a “pocket listing,” meaning it’s not on the MLS service and not widely advertised. According to public records Metallica drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich has owned it, although it’s now controlled by a trust.
As you can imagine the views are astounding. The real estate listing reads, “There are unobstructed panoramic views for miles in virtually every direction.”
Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout take in vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, the city skyline and beyond.
The home itself is also impressive, resembling a modern European chateau with a grand entrance. At some 13,000 square feet, the house has 25-plus rooms including six bedrooms, six full bathrooms (one with an aquarium over the tub), three half-bathrooms, five fireplaces, a library, a recording studio, a media room, a sauna for six people and an underground basketball court that can also be used for playing squash. The ceilings are high and the walls are big and expansive, perfect for a world-class art collection.
The property sits on a 20,000-square-foot-plus lot, and the sale “will include an aggregate of three separate parcels totaling more than two acres,” reads the listing. “The property owner prefers to sell all three parcels in one transaction but, for the right price, may consider selling them separately.”
Steven Mavromihalis with Compass is the listing agent.
