Victorian farmhouse in San Rafael, once owned by Martin Cruz Smith, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms

The former home of “Gorky Park” author Martin Cruz Smith is for sale for $4.395 million.

The 3,605-square-foot Victorian farmhouse in San Rafael has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, including a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage.

The property was built in 1879 but has been fully renovated maintaining period details including crown mouldings, built-ins and etched art glass. It also features a media room, chef’s kitchen with butler’s pantry and an expansive lawn with fruit trees and vegetable gardens.

In fact, the home hosted Cruz Smith’s artistic and literary gatherings, according to the listing.
