Metallica Guitarist Kirk Hammett’s San Francisco House Sells for $12.8M
Eight-time Grammy Award-winner Kirk Hammett has been trying to unload this gorgeous San Francisco home since 2016, and he’s finally done it, although for less than he originally wanted. First listed for $16 million and later brought back on the market for $13 million, the cliffside abode just closed for $12.8 million.
A Neo-Classical dream, the 4,180-square-foot residence is romantic and peaceful thanks to abounding ocean views and neutral interiors. Circa-1922 period details add to the sophisticated glamour, but it looks like the Metallica guitarist couldn’t resist himself and infused some of his rocker flair by painting an entire bathroom bright green.
Since he snagged the property in 2005 for $5.7 million, Hammett made an impressive profit on this sale. Mark Levinson of Pacific Union had the listing, which America Luxury first reported recently sold.
