The legendary musician Carlos Santana is selling his harmonious home in Tiburon, CA, for $5.7 million.
Santana, 74, is a Bay Area native and has lived in the area since the 1960s. He’s long been claimed by locals of this Northern California community, even though he has also owned homes in Las Vegas and on the island of Kauai, where he spends most of his time, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Santana purchased his Tiburon home in 2002 for $1,658,000. He stands to profit handsomely, given the heated state of the housing market in the area.
And without a doubt, the guitarist’s smooth home hits all the right notes.
The 3,690-square-foot floor plan offers four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Built in 1978, the home offers a “seamless blend of contemporary architecture,” according to the listing.
“This is one of Tiburon’s most exclusive locations, providing both privacy and world class views, matched by the talent of its celebrated owner, philanthropic leader, and musical genius,” says Compass agent Shana Rohde-Lynch, who holds the listing.
Perhaps appealing to the musician, the dramatic entryway features an “acoustical dome.” Steps lead down to the main living and dining area, accented by hardwood flooring and walls of windows framing stunning views. Just adjacent, the open kitchen features light wood cabinets, stainless-steel appliances, and wine storage.
A breakfast nook adjoins the kitchen, and a separate formal dining space is surrounded by windows. In an office space that opens to an outdoor deck, a photo of the musician hangs on the wall, and his trademark hat hangs on a chair.
The main-level master suite overlooks the water. The almost 1-acre grounds offer multiple entertaining spaces for lounging and dining, along with plenty of privacy.
The property includes an attached two-car garage and a motor court.
The seaside locale is close to open space, shops, restaurants, and ferry service to San Francisco.
Santana has been busy with his real estate dealings. He recently placed a luxury abode in Las Vegas on the market for $2.8 million.
And he let go of one of his Hawaii homes for $3 million, after reportedly picking up a $20.5 million estate just last month. He also placed a third home on the island for sale for $12.9 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The 10-time Grammy winner has continued to produce hits over the decades, including the award-winning “Smooth,” along with albums “Abraxas” and “Supernatural.”
