An enormous French Chateau-style house in Beverly Hills designed by “King of the Megamansion” Richard Landry is seeking $45 million.
Sited in Beverly Park, one of the most exclusive guard-gated communities in the country, the 27,712-square-foot home has 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms spanning more than two acres of landscaped grounds, the listing shows.
The grand megamansion was built in 2008 and designed by the renowned Quebec-born American architect Richard Landry.
Mr. Landry, 60, has made his name designing multimillion dollar megamansions for Hollywood A-listers, including Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, Mark Wahlberg and Sylvester Stallone, earning him the nickname “King of the Megamansion.”
According to Brian Pinkett, a partner in Mr. Landry’s Landry Design Group, they designed this Beverly Park home for the family of a local Los Angeles businessman.
“They wanted something French and romantic,” Mr. Pinkett said. “It’s the third home we designed for them.”
And the property has all the lavish features one would expect from Mr. Landry: an ornate-wood-paneled library with a glass floor looking into the 2,500-bottle wine cellar below, reflecting pools acting as a moat, and a wooden bridge for entering the main residence.
The mansion hit the market in 2008 with a $45 million price tag and was sold a year later for $31.5 million, according to the former listing and property records. Public records show it was sold to privately owned company Danko Holdings LLC.
It was put back on the market last Friday for $45 million. Aaron Kirman and Neyshia Go from John Aaroe Group holds the listing.
The property is owned by an investment group, according to Aaron Kirman Partners’s marketing director, Andy Butler.
“In the past few years since the home was last listed, the market has increased substantially. The value of homes in Beverly Park has risen with the market. Additionally it is incredibly rare for inventory to become available in Beverly Park,” Mr. Butler said.
The entrance to the mansion is a two-story foyer, and the house features a master suite with an expansive terrace, soaring ceilings with intricate crown moldings, and well-appointed his-and-hers closets and bathrooms.
It also comes with a Moroccan-themed movie theater, an elevator, a ballroom, a tennis court, a treatment room with an indoor pool and spas, a sauna and a steam room. A six-car garage, multiple water features, and an outdoor pool complete the estate.
