$35 million and $18 million mansions come up for sale simultaneously on Marin’s ‘Starchitect Street’
August 17, 2017
Two multimillion properties went up for sale today on what’s been dubbed Marin’s “Starchitect Street,” with an eye toward creating a solid three-home row of modern architecture in Tiburon.
Located on Paradise Drive, the two listings, one designed by Stanley Saitowitz and the other by Craig Steely, will neighbor a much-fêted property being designed by well-known modern architect Sir David Adjaye. The first, by Saitowitz, has been listed for $35 million; the second, by Steely, for $18 million.
Both homes are slated to be completed in 2019 and are owned by Bay Area art dealer Serge Sorokko, as is the third home being designed by Adjaye. The Saitowitz home also has waterfront access.
You can see renderings of the properties in our slideshow above.
“With all the waterfront we have in this area, there are few places with a private sandy beach on a flat lot,” Smith told the Business Times. “Access to the Bay is so easy from this property.”
The $35 million mansion sits on 7.4 acres and has an 8,000-square-foot residence with eight bedrooms, five bathrooms, an infinity pool, wine cellar, screening room, chef’s kitchen and gymnasium.
The $18 million Steely-designed home will include another 8,000-square-foot home sitting on 3.2 acres, and will have six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a gym, sauna, plunge pool, outdoor kitchen, wine cellar and media room.
Bernard Trainor will be the landscaper on both properties.
“Prior to its acquisition by the Sorokkos, the Paradise Drive parcel was a single, 19-acre piece of land owned by the same family for nearly 100 years,” Sorokko said in a statement. “The properties are each fully-entitled and designs by Saitowitz and Steely are under review by Marin County, located just a few miles north of San Francisco.”
